It was a low-scoring game Saturday afternoon as the Decorah Viking boys basketball team hosted the Western Dubuque Bobcats.

Western Dubuque beat Decorah, 48 to 39.

Junior Matthew Franzen was the leading scorer with 11 points, junior Logan Halverson had 9 points, and junior Sam Robinson had 6 points.

Head coach Jonathan Carlson said, "It was good to get a game under our belts and see where we need to improve. I thought we were the aggressor in the 2nd half, which resulted in our guys playing to the level we know they can play at, we need to build off of this, into our next game Tuesday." "We look forward to the opportunity to improve and get back on the court Tuesday vs. a very good Wahlert team."

Decorah will play again on Tuesday night, hosting Dubuque Wahlert.  The Vikings start Northeast Iowa Conference action on Friday, when they travel to Waverly.
