The Decorah boys bowling team came away just 85 pins short in their match against the North Fayette Mustangs on Friday night. Final score was North Fayette Valley 2,535, Decorah 2,451.
Tyler Thompson bowled a 226 and a 149; Justin Redenius had a 166 and a 205; Breydon Johnson had a 177 and 179; Keagan Einck had a 150 and 160; and Luke Iverson had a 149 and a 124.
The boys bowled a 162, 153, 188, 132, and 131 in the baker games. The varsity boys are now 1-1.
"We were just inconsistent. We had our chances to win, we just didn't get it done," said head coach Keith Bruening. He added, "Sophomore Tyler Thompson and Justin Redenius led the way. We will come back next Friday against Oelwein. We will show up and compete."
The JV boys went 2-0. Karter Einck bowled a 345 series and Tyler Shedinger had 224 series.
The boys will travel to Oelwein on Friday for their next tournament.
