Decorah boys swim team finishes in 2nd place at the Cardinal Invite

The Decorah boys swim team had a great weekend at Newton as they finished in 2nd place with 305 points, just behind Indianola who had 314 points. The Vikings had three first place finishes.

In the 200 meter medley relay Gus Grimstad, AJ Morrow, Bradyn Hook, and Christian Johnson finished 3rd with their time of 2:00.02.

Caleb Huebner finished 3rd in the 200 meter freestyle with his time of 2:19.14. AJ Morrow was 4th, finishing in 2:20.77.

Gus Grimstad finished in 2nd place in the 200 meter IM with his time of 2:28.94.  Jackson Penny was 4th as he finished in 2:33.85.

Christian Johnson finished in 2nd place in the 50 meter freestyle in 27.36.

Bradyn Hook finished in 1st place in the 100 meter butterfly with his time of 1:07.29. Andrew Heine was right behind him in 2nd place in 1:08.04.

In the 400 meter freestyle Drew Chamberlain finished in 3rd place in 4:49.35 and Jackson Penny was 4th as he finished in 4:49.50.

In the 200 meter freestyle relay Drew Chamberlain, Andrew Heine, Christian Johnson, and Bradyn Hook finished in 2nd place with their time of 1:50.65.

Gus Grimstad won the 100 meter backstroke with his time of 1:04.41.

In the 400 meter freestyle relay the team of AJ Morrow, Bradyn Hook, Caleb Huebner, and Gus Grimstad won the event with their time of 4:02.37.

Next up for the Vikings will be the Cedar Fall invite on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
