Ellen Drewes-Stoen inducted into Luther Sports Hall of Fame

Luther College Professor Emerita of Health and Physical Education Ellen Drewes-Stoen, a former Luther head volleyball coach, has been inducted into the Luther College Athletic Hall of Fame.

From 1979-2003, a span of 25 years, Drewes-Stoen was head coach of the Luther volleyball program. She led her teams to nine 20-plus wins season and finished with a career record of 451-366 that ranked 12th in the NCAA III when she retired from coaching.
 
She coached two three-time all-conference performers; six two-time all-conference performers; 12 one-time all-conference performers; and one Iowa Conference MVP, Amie (Schroeder) Mitchell '97 in 1995.  In 1995, she was inducted into the Augustana University, Sioux Falls, S.D. Hall of Fame as the Ole Odney Award Winner.
 
Luther Professor Emerita of Heath and Physical Education Betty Hoff inducted Drewes-Stoen in to the Hall of Fame.
