Decorah girls swimming and diving team wins dual meet at Waterloo

Decorah girls swimming and diving team wins dual meet at Waterloo on Tuesday. Decorah won against Waterloo 129-56. Decorah also won against Iowa City High by 2 points, 94-92.

Decorah won 1st place in 5 events, including the 200 yard medley relay with the team of Margaret Rhodes, Emma Bachelder, Emily Voyna, and Meridan Snitker with their time of 1:59.

Emma Bachelder won the 50 yard freestyle with her time of 25.50. Katherine Bruening won the 500 yard freestyle in 6:14.57. Emily Voyna won the 100 yard backstroke in 1:09.32. Ella Hermeier won the 100 yard breaststroke om 1:17.51.

Emma Bachelder finished in 2nd place in the 100 yard freestyle with her time of 55.18 and Margaret Rhodes finished in 3rd place with her time of 1:01.03.Emily Voyna finished in 2nd place in the 100 yard butterfly in 1:05.76.

Coach Allie Bachelder said, "The girls competed well as a team tonight. It was a huge accomplishment to come out with a victory over Waterloo and Iowa City. We had some great races and I was extremely happy with the end result."
