The Decorah boys cross country team won the South Winn Invitational on Tuesday with 10 runners competing in one race.
This year the invitational was limited to one boys race and one girls race, compared to the usual jv girls, jv boys, and two varsity races. This was due to an effort to keep the already soggy golf course from getting torn up.
Gus Hayes won the race with his time of 16:30.29. Brady Hogan was the next runner to cross the finish line in 16:42.04. Spencer Peterson came in 5th in 17:37.44. Brayden Krivachek was 6th in 17:41.29. Noah Lovelace was 8th in 17:46.19. Willem Hawley was 9th in 17:49.18. Joseph Seo was 11th, finishing in 17:53.42. Pat Bockman was 14th in 18:02.66. Sam Robinson finished 15th in 18:13 and Zach Garwood was 27th with his time of 19:16.94.
After the meet Coach Brad Johansen said, "We will continue to improve as time goes on. Good to see the team getting healthier."
