Decorah swimming and diving team wins 7 out of 12 events at the Dubuque Hempstead dual meet

The Decorah girls swimming and diving team traveled to Dubuque Hempstead on Tuesday for a dual meet against Waterloo and Dubuque Hempstead. The girls varsity team won the first part of the meet against Waterloo, 129-53. The Vikings also won the second part of the meet against Dubuque Hempstead 123-58.

The girls won 7 out of 12 events. The relay team of Margaret Rhodes, Emma Bachelder, Emily Voyna, and Kiana Folkedahl won the 200 yard medley relay with their time of 1:59.78. Margaret Rhodes won the 200 yard IM in 2:32.00. Jessica Ling placed first in the 1 meter diving with a final score of 199.80. Emma Bachelder won the 100 yard freestyle in 55.54 and the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:11.65.

The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Emma Bachelder, Destiny Berns, Kiana Folkedahl, and Meridian Snitker finished in first place with their time of 1:48.52. The 400 yard freestyle relay was also a win with the relay team of Emily Voyna, Katherine Bruening, Sarina Guzman, and Destiny Berns finishing in 4:17.32.

The Decorah jv team won against Waterloo's jv team 26-18. The Dubuque Hempstead jv team beat Decorah's jv team 72-26.
