Four DHS graduates will run cross country at Luther

Four Decorah High School graduates are part of this fall's Luther College men's cross country team. 

The four boys include sophomore Henrik Marquardt, the son of Jill and Tom Marquardt of Decorah, and junior Trevor Phillips, the son of Bradley and Lori Phillips of Decorah, and incoming freshmen Rye Hawley, the son of Jane Hawley of Decorah, and Jarod Phillips, the son of Bradley and Lori Phillips of Decorah.
 
The Norse return three runners from its top seven of a year ago. Last year, the Norse placed fourth at the Conference Championships and fifth of 29 teams at the NCAA III Central Regional.
 
Luther is led by head coach Steve Pasche who begins his 14th year. During his tenure, the Norse have made five trips to the NCAA Division III National Championships and have been crowned Iowa Conference champions five times.
 
Luther begins its season at the St. Mary's University Open Saturday in Winona, Minnesota. Saturday, September 8th, Luther will host the All-American Invitational.
