The Decorah Swim Team wins a home meet

The Decorah Swim Team (DST) had a home meet Tuesday and they made the most of it.

Decorah defeated Sumner 517 to 149.  Decorah swept all 20 relay events and overall won 71 of 78 events.  Decorah's 200 yard freestyle relay team of Gus Grimstad, Christian Johnson, Bradyn Hook and Isaac Dixon finished in 1:45.60--32 seconds faster than Sumner's relay team.  Decorah had 11 out of 12 swimmers in the 8-year-old and under 25 yard freestyle, with Decorah's Gavin Carolan finishing first.  Among 9-year-old and 10-year-old girls in the 50-yard freestyle, Decorah had 21 of 24 entries, with Decorah's Sydney Thompson finishing first.

Decorah will have its final home meet next Thursday, July 5th, facing West Union.  It will travel to Calmar on Tuesday, July 10th, before taking part in the Conference Swim Meet  Saturday, July 14th at Sumner.
