It was a doubleheader with two different opponents for the Decorah Viking baseball team on Friday in Decorah.

The Vikings completed a game against Charles City which had been postponed by rain on Wednesday.  Charles City scored in the bottom of the 8th inning and won 4-3.

Then the Vikings faced Waukon in a regulation game.  Decorah won 3-1 as Drake Shelton went the distance, striking out four and allowing just one run.  Jace Johnson went 1-for-2 with an RBI, as did Tom Knoke.

Decorah won the JV game 3-0, with Ryan Schneberger the winning pitcher.  Briggs Duwe went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs.

The Viking varsity is now 14-4 overall, 10-3 in the NEIC, one-half game out of first place.  The Vikings will travel to Waverly on Tuesday for an important conference match-up, then will have non-conference games at Waterloo Columbus and at Waterloo East before traveling to Oelwein on Friday.
