Viking baseball team shuts out Waukon in 5 innings

The Decorah Viking baseball team needed only five innings on Tuesday to beat the Waukon Indians in Waukon.

Final score in Game 1 was Decorah 13, Waukon 0.

Brannan Hogan was the winning pitcher. Hogan pitched the complete game of 5 innings, and threw 5 strikeouts. Drake Shelton went 2 for 4, had a grand slam home run, 4 RBI's, and 3 runs.
Ian Smith went 2 for 4, and had 3 RBI's. Dawson Holkesvik went 2 for 4, and had 1 RBI.

In Game 2, Decorah beat Waukon 14 to 2.

Jace Johnson was the winning pitcher. Johnson pitched 5 and 2/3 innings, and had 8 strikeouts.
Jackson Varney went 2 for 4, had 2 runs, and 2 RBI's. Drake Shelton went 2 for 3, had 2 runs,and 1 RBI. Kailer McCabe went 1 for 2, and had a double, and 1 RBI. Tom Knoke went 2 for 3, had 2 runs, and 2 RBI's.

The Vikings are 10-3 in the conference and will face Charles City at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday in a doubleheader at New Hampton (this is a location change).
