Northeastern Swim team competes at the ICE Splash Out Hunger Invitational at the University of Iowa

The Northeastern Swim Team (NST) recently competed at the ICE Splash Out Hunger Invitational at the University of Iowa. At the meet NST had four new Q-times and was awarded its tenth Team Sportsmanship award in the past three years.

At this meet there was also a food drive where NST came in third overall with 152 donated food items. Teams collected a total of 1,546 items for the Mark Twain Student Food Pantry.

"Our swimmers showed great team spirit over the weekend and our parents demonstrated what a generous community we live in," said Head Coach Eric Crawford.

In the final event of the meet, the 10 & Under Mixed (2 boys, 2 girls) 200 Free Relay, the team of Max Grimstad, Jaylee Vobr, Alex Berg and Anna Knaack won with a time of 2:29.36. NST's combined 10 & Unders finished second overall in team scores at the meet 712 points.

Carson Hager 11-12 100 Fly (1:22.01)
Brenna Parker 11-12 200 Breast (2:23.94)
Jaylee Vobr 10 & Under 50 Back (44.64)
