The Decorah baseball team score two victories at Oelwein on Wednesday

The Decorah Viking baseball team swept a doubleheader Wednesday night at home against Oelwein.

In Game 1, the Vikings kept the Huskies from scoring. The final score was  Decorah 10, Oelwein 0, in 6 innings of play.

Tom Knoke was the winning pitcher for the complete game and threw 7 strikeouts.
Jackson Varney went 3 for 4, with 3 runs, and a stolen base. Drake Shelton went 3 for 4, had 3 runs, a double, a triple, and 1 RBI. Brannan Hogan went 3 for 5, had a double, and 4 RBI's. Ian Smith went 2 for 4, with 1 run scored.

In Game 2, the final score was Decorah 5, Oelwein 1.

Jace Johnson was the winning pitcher, pitching 5.1 innings, throwing 7 strikeouts.
Michael Bruening recorded the last 5 outs for the save.  Drake Shelton went 3 for 4, had 2 runs, 1 RBI, and a stolen base. Brannan Hogan went 2 for 4, including 1 run, 1 stolen base, and 2 RBI's.

The Vikings will play against New Hampton Friday night at home.
