The Vikings baseball team shuts out Crestwood

The Decorah Vikings baseball team traveled to Cresco on Tuesday and did not allow the Crestwood Cadets to score.

Final score was Decorah 10, Crestwood 0, with the game called after 6 innings of play.

Brannan Hogan pitched the complete game for the varsity team and gave up just 1 hit, with 6 strikeouts and 2 walks. Hogan went 2 for 4 with a double and had 2 RBI's. Kailer McCabe went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI's. Ian Smith went 3 for 3, with a double, and 3 RBI's.

The junior varsity also shut out Crestwood. The final score was Decorah 9, Crestwood 0.  Davon Thompson, Ryan Schneberger, and Cael Luzum all pitched and held Crestwood scoreless. Davon Thompson went 2 for 4, had a double, and one run scored.  Andrew Murphy had a double.
The varsity will play at home against Oelwein in a doubleheader on Wednesday.
