Two Decorah mixed doubles teams compete at the Co-Ed State Tournament

Four Decorah High School tennis players paired up to compete in the Iowa Co-ed Doubles State Tournament on Tuesday. 38 mixed doubles teams came together from high school teams across the state to compete in the one day tournament held in Des Moines.

Aidan Hunter and Carina Yee won their first round match against Marion 6-1,6-3, but lost in the second round to Pella 2-6,1-6. The pair continued play in 2 exhibition rounds winning 6-3, 6-3 against Saydel, and 6-2, 6-1 against Marion.

Billy Lange and Vita Domnenko lost in their first round of competition against Kuemper Catholic 2-6, 1-6. The duo played 3 exhibition matches after that and won 6-0, 6-0 against Keokuk, 6-0, 6-1 against Shenandoah, and 6-1, 7-5 against Waterloo Columbus Catholic.
