Viking baseball team beats Charles City at home

An 8-run third inning propelled the Decorah Viking baseball team to a 9-5 victory over Charles City at home Tuesday night.

Tom Knoke was the winning pitcher, going five-and-a-third innings, giving up 4 hits and 1 earned run.  Knoke had 7 strikeouts and gave up 2 walks.

Ian Smith went 2 for 4 with 2 runs batted in, while Jackson Varney was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI.

The Viking junior varsity lost 9-3 to Charles City, with Decorah's Caleb Keck having a double and an RBI.
