Rachel Nelson-Buresh of Decorah with her North Dakota High School Track & Field Hall of Fame plaque
Decorah resident Rachael Nelson-Buresh was inducted into the North Dakota High School Track and Field Hall of Fame over the Memorial Day weekend.
Buresh was a 12-time State Champion as well as a 21-time State Track Meet qualifier. She ran varsity track for six years, starting as a 7th grader.
She qualified in the long jump, 100, 200, 300 hurdles, 400, 800, 1600, 800 Medley Relay, 1600 Relay and 3200 Relay. She was a member of the Langdon High School track & field team, the over-all state champions in 1985 and 1986.
