The Luther College softball team won all three of its tournament games over the weekend and qualified for next weekend's NCAA Division III Super Regionals.
Luther College posted a 3-0 victory Sunday afternoon over Saint Benedict in Decorah. The Norse outscored their opponents 20-3 in three games, shutting out their opponents in two of the three games.
On Sunday afternoon the Norse scored all three of their runs in the second inning, then took the victory behind the three-hit shut out tossed by Samantha Bratland (24-4), who was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament. Also named to the All-Region team were Samantha Bratland, who was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament, tossed a three-hit shut out. She walked one and struck out three en route to her 24th win in the circle against four losses.
Also named to the All-Region team were Bailey Hocker, Ashley Burrows and Addy Pender.
Luther will now face the University of St. Thomas in a Super Regional that will take place Friday and Saturday, with an announcement Monday as to where this best two-out-of three series will be played.
