The Vikings traveled to Dubuque Monday to take the pitch at Wahlert Catholic High School.
The game was tied 0-0 at halftime, but Wahlert came out strong in the second half and scored 3 goals within a matter of minutes. Decorah Head Coach James Garcia-Prats says, "We have to give a lot of credit to Dubuque Wahlert. They made it hard for us and we did not cope and compete with it. While it is disappointing, we have to be able to learn from it and get better as we move forward."
The JV team came away with a 2-0 win. Both goals were scored by Sawyer Vanden Brink, with assists from Miguel Amador and David Olson.
"Hats off to our JV boys who put in a great performance and have shown some great improvement over the course of the year already. Too often our JV squads do not get enough credit but this group has been fun to watch improve and compete," said Garcia-Prats.
