Boys track and field team win Bulldog relays at MFL

Despite high winds Monday afternoon, the Decorah boys track and field team came away with the most points to win the meet. Final scores were Decorah 168, North Fayette 142, Clayton Ridge 89, East Buchanan 57, Central 40, Kee High 31, and MFL/MarMac 27.

In field events Andy Lillegraven won the shot put with a throw of 50 feet, 2.5 inches. Logan Halverson finished in third place with his throw of 41 feet, 8.5 inches. Andy Lillegraven finished in second place in the discus with his throw of 137 feet, 6 inches. Erick Fadness was fourth with a throw of 113 feet, 4 inches. Keaton Solberg finished in first place in the high jump as he cleared 6 feet, 2 inches. Jackson Varney won the long jump with his jump of 19 feet, 6 inches. Andrew Magner was fourth as he jumped 17 feet, 9.5 inches.

The sprint medley team of Jason Adam, Beirgen Gunhus-Dansdill, Austin Myli, and Christian Johnson finished in first place with their time of 1:43.

Brady Hogan won the 3200 meter run in 11:03.20.

The 4 x 800 relay team of Jarod Phillips, Tyler Vande Lune, Matthew Franzen, and Christian Johnson finished in first place with their time of 9:23.36.

Jason Adam finished in second place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.75.

The distance medley team of Mikel Fullhart, Beirgen Gunhus-Dansdill, Austin Myli, and Dawson Holkesvik won first place as they crossed the finish line in 3:53.96.

In the 400 meter dash Jarod Phillips finished in fourth place with a time of 57.57. Keaton Solberg was fifth in 58.46.

In the 4 x 200 meter relay the team of Kyle Renken, Cael Luzum, Christian Johnson, and Seth Shindelar finished in first place with their time of 3:38.

Andrew Magner took second place in the 100 meter hurdles with his time of 17.22.

Andrew Kephart won the 800 meter run with a time of 2:07.

Jackson Varney finished in second place in the 200 meter dash with his time of 24.90. Clay Johansen finished in fifth place with a time of 26.21.

Rye Hawley finished in second place in the 1600 meter run with his time of 5:04.29.

In the 4 x 100 meter relay it was a first place finish for the team of Jason Adam, Jackson Varney, Beirgen Gunhus-Dansdill, and Dawson Holkesvik with the time of 46.56.

The relay team of  Kyle Renken, Cael Luzum, Christian Johnson, and Seth Shindelar won first place in the last event as they crossed the line at 3:48 in the 4 x 400 meter relay.

The Vikings will compete at conference on Thursday at Charles City.
