Decorah girls track & field team wins the Decorah Girls Relays

The Decorah Viking girls track & field team beat Dubuque Wahlert HS and Dubuque Senior HS on Thursday to take first place in the 14-team Decorah Girls Relays.

The Vikings had 14 top-three finishes in the events, including four first place finishes.  Decorah won the 4 x 800 meter relay, the 4 x 100 meter shuttle hurdle relay, the 4 x 400 meter relay and the 4 x 100 meter weightwoman relay.  Decorah also took second in the Distance Medley Relay, the 4 x 200 meter relay.

In individual events, Olivia Battle and Lydia Ihde took second and third places in the 400 meter dash, while Grace Syverson and Bella Knutson finished second and third in the 100 meter hurdles. Ambria Pipho took second in the 400 meter hurdles, then finished third in the high jump, clearing four feet, 10 inches.  Brooke Berns finished third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.36 seconds.

The Vikings finished with 120 points, while Dubuque Wahlert had 108 points and Dubuque Senior earned 73 points.
