The Decorah girls tennis team hosted Charles City on Tuesday and came away victorious, not even allowing the Comets a chance to score.
"After a two week delay, you just do not know for sure what to expect, but I should have known better. Each of the girls played their game and took Charles City out of theirs, leading to individual victories. Alli Groux and Soleil Smith did not allow a single game to be won by their opponents. That is tough to do and a true measure of concentrated focus during their matches. Doubles was much the same. I was really excited about the way in which the teammates communicated during their matches. Their willingness to stretch themselves beyond their comfort levels allowed them to find out that they could create more chaos on the court than their opposition could handle,. I was extremely proud of two freshmen who stepped up at three doubles to dominate play during their match. Cady and Morgan lived at the net, placing unrelenting pressure throughout the match," praised head coach Larry Berland.
