Three Decorah Viking bowlers have been named to all-state and all-district teams.
Senior Michael Bruening was first team all-state Class 1A boys and first team all-district Class 1A boys, central district. Senior Tyler Vande Lune was also first team all-district Class 1A boys, central district. Senior Dawson Holkesvik was second team all-district Class 1A boys, central district.
Head Coach Keith Bruening was named Class 1A Boys Central District Coach of the Year.
"These three kids deserve all the recognition they are getting. Wow, Michael first team all state. He has worked for three years on his game, missed going to state by a few pins. Great reward for a GREAT season. Michael closes out with a 225 game avg. Just a great deal. He has always dreamed of making Decorahs' Hall of Fame, Michael has done it!! All three of these kids will do BIG things in college and beyond. For only our second season, we went undefeated, and we gave Charles City all they wanted in the District meet. I am privileged to coach quality kids. Many times this season I was complimented on the good conduct of our teams. That's the real world and something that really matters," said coach Keith Bruening.
