A tough loss has ended the season of the Decorah Viking boys basketball team. Decorah dropped a 50-49 decision to Webster City in the opening round of postseason play in Charles City Monday night.
It was a close-fought game throughout. Decorah trailed by one point, 13-12, at the end of the first quarter, but took a 21-18 lead into the locker room at halftime. Webster City rallied in the third quarter, going up 37-31 as the quarter ended. But Decorah fought back and took a 46-43 lead in the fourth quarter. The lead did not hold up, however, as Webster City took the one point victory.
Nick Bockman led the Vikings with 20 points, while Jerod Redenius added 14 points and Pat Bockman had 10.
Decorah ends the season with a record of 11 wins and 10 losses.
