Decorah Girls Bowling Team Finish In Second Place at District Qualifying Tournament

The Decorah Girls Bowling team finished in second place at districts on Tuesday.

Final team scores were Charles City 2,929, Decorah 2,260, Sumner-Fredricksburg 2,208, Tripoli 2,195, Denver 1,985, Waukon 1,953 and North Fayette Valley 713. Charles City will compete at the State meet on Monday.

Maddie Putnam was the leader for Decorah with a personal best of a two game total of 395. This score qualified Putnam as an individual bowler for the state meet on Monday at Waterloo.

Lexie Hauber was next with a 310, Rachel Hines had a 300, Kacie Henry had a 295, Sierra Duncan had a 266, and Annika Lensch had a 237.

The girls baker scores were 143, 139, 161, 129, and 121.

"Maddie Putnam led the team along with Lexie Hauber, and Rachel Hines. All bowled their personal best! I'm very, very proud of these girls, especially Maddie Putnam. Senior Rachel Hines bowled her personal best, as far as competition goes. We have a strong team coming back, we are looking forward to next season," commented coach Keith Bruening.

The girls ended their season with a 4-6 record.
