Decorah swimmers do well at the State Meet at Iowa City

The Decorah Viking boys swimming team did well Saturday on the big stage of the University of Iowa swimming pool and the Iowa High School Championships.

Four members of Decorah's swim team had qualified for State--Noah Faldet, Gus Grimstad, AJ Morrow and Andrew Heine. 

Faldet had the best finish of Decorah's three entries--finishing third in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 57.36 seconds.  In the 100 yard butterfly, Faldet was 18th with a time of 53.99 seconds.

All four swimmers competed in the opening event, the 200-yard Medley Relay.  Grimstad, Faldet, Morrow and Heine finished in 1:40.97, good for 15th place.

Overall, Decorah finished with 20 points and in 21st place out of the 32 teams competing.
