The Decorah Viking boys basketball team is beginning to put together a string of victories. Decorah traveled to Charles City on Friday night and came away with its latest win, a 79-66 victory over the Comets.
Both teams were slow to get going in the first half, with Decorah leading 34-18 at intermission. But the Vikings scored 45 points in the second half as a number of players had good nights. Jerod Redenius had 15 points, Patrick Bockman scored 13, Tynan Nelson had 10 points, Jonah Johnson had 10 points and Nick Bockman had 9 points. Jack Molstead of Charles City led all scorers with 37 points, but that wasn't enough to produce a "W."
Decorah is now 6-5 in the NEIC and 10-10 overall. The Vikings will travel to Crestwood on Tuesday night to close out their conference schedule. Decorah's postseason assignment will be announced on Monday night.
