The Decorah Viking girls basketball team ended its regular season on Friday night with a win over Charles City, giving the Vikings a 5-7 record in the Northeast Iowa Conference and a tie for fourth place.
Charles City led 11-9 at the end of the first quarter, but the Vikings rallied from then on. Decorah took a 3-point lead into the locker room at halftime, 22-19, but put the game away by outscoring the Comets, 14-5, during the third quarter. The margin stayed at 12 points for most of the rest of the game, which ended with a 52-40 scoreboard tally.
Lindsey McEnaney led all players with 20 points. Allie Hafner added 11 points for the Vikings, with Madison McEnaney scoring 7.
Decorah and Charles City will face each other again on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. as postseason play begins with Regional quarterfinal action. Decorah is now 9-12 on the season, while Charles City is 0-20. The winner of Wednesday night's game faces Waverly-Shell Rock in Waverly on Saturday.
