Decorah Girls Bowling Team go 4-6 after losing to Waverly

Waverly won on Friday with a score of 2,474, but the Viking girls bowled their best score of the season, 2,189.

Maddy Putnam led the team with a 156, and a 161 (317). Kacie Henry was next with a 157, and a 124 (315). Sierra Duncan had a 135, and a 156 (291). Lexie Hauber had a 149, and a 110 (259) and Rachel Hines had a 135, and a 124 (259).

Baker game scores were 175, 143, 139, 173, and 118.

"Maddie Putnam, Kacie Henry, and Sierra Duncan really led the team. We're coming into our own, improving every meet, it's fun to see. We will work really hard the next 5-6 days and get ready for districts. We will surprise a lot of teams," said head coach Keith Bruening.

Individual team conference is Saturday, 12:00 p.m. at Maple Grove Lanes in Waterloo. The top two bowlers, based on season averages are Maddie Putnam and Kacie Henry, who will compete at individual team conference.

Districts will be held at Oneota Lanes in Decorah on Tuesday, February 13th at 12:00 p.m. Seven teams will be competing for the chance to bowl at state. The first place team at districts will bowl at the state tournament on February 20th.
