Decorah Viking girls bowling team is now 3-3

The Decorah Vikings girls bowling team had a tough loss Friday night as they faced the #1 girls team in the state, the Charles City Comets.

Maddie Putnam was the top bowler as she bowled a 129, and a 178 for a total of 307 pins. Lexie Hauber was right behind Putnam with a 161, and a 139, for a total of 300 pins. Kacie Henry bowled a 136, and a 147, total of 283 pins. Rachel Hines had a 125, and a 157, totalling 282 pins.

Final scores were Charles City 2,598 to Decorah's 2,106.

Coach Bruening said, "Our team is starting to come around. We are hitting the head pin, now we have to work on spare pick up. I am very, very happy with how the girls are coming around. They are a fun group to coach."

Friday the girls will travel to Tripoli for their next competition.
