Decorah Viking's Katie Nimrod heading to UNI

Decorah High School student Katie Nimrod has signed a national letter of intent to participate in track at the University of Northern Iowa.

Nimrod has been a three year letter winner at Decorah High School, including being part of three State Championship relay teams.  In 2016 she was runner-up in the 400 meter hurdles.  In 2017 she place third in the 400 hurdles at the Drake Relays, then won the event at the State Track & Field Meet.

Nimrod has also been involved in cross country, softball and basketball.  In cross country she finished in 7th place individually as the Vikings as a team finished 3rd at the 2017 State Meet. 

Katie says she liked the atmosphere at the UNI campus and the fun and exciting track team.

Katie is the daughter of Andy and Cristy Nimrod of Decorah.
