It was a beautiful sunny day on Saturday at the Luther All-American Invitational and the Decorah boys cross country team took full advantage of that. The boys won the meet with 60 points, La Crosse Central finished in second place with 95 points and Rochester took third place with 157 points.

Individually all of the varsity runners finished in the top 40. Senior Andrew Kephart finished in second place, crossing the finish line in 16.32. Junior Gus Hayes claimed fifth place with a time of 16.55. Senior Rye Hawley-Bourcier placed tenth, clocking in at 17.12.

Coach Brad Johansen said, "The toughest portion of our schedule is upon us and we showed great mental and physical toughness today. We will need to continue to be focused on all facets of our training to become as good as we can become for our ability."

The boys will be traveling to Cedar Falls on Thursday for their next meet.
