Four Decorah Viking softball players have been named Northeast Iowa All Conference.
This is the first year since 2012 the Vikings have had more than one player on first team.
Named to the first team is senior catcher Lauryn Eggert and junior outfielder Katie Nimrod. Named to second team is junior infielder Hailey Nierling. Freshman Ambria Pipho was named honorable mention.
Conference stats for the 18 games played are as follows:
Lauryn Eggert had 26 hits with 8 RBI, and a batting average of .418
Katie Nimrod had 29 hits and 16 runs and 6 RBI, 7 stolen bases, and a batting average of .455.
Hailey Nierling had 27 hits, 3 homeruns, 18 RBI, and a batting average of .377
Ambria Pipho had 21 hits, 6 RBIs and a batting average of .316.
Coach Jill Christofferson said, "We are pleased with the outcome of the all conference selections this year. The girls have been working hard this season to prove they are able to play with any team in the conference." This was Christofferson's first year coaching the Decorah Vikings softball team.
