The Decorah and West Delaware baseball teams played for just five innings in Decorah on Wednesday night.  That was not good news for the Vikings, as West Delaware won 14-3.

Despite the loss, Decorah continues to have a good season, with 18 wins and 7 losses overall.  The Vikings will resume NEIC competition on Friday night, traveling to Charles City, which is 10-16 overall.  The teams will play a doubleheader to close out Northeast Iowa Conference competition for both teams.  Decorah will win at least a share of second place in the NEIC by winning once.

The two teams will meet again on Friday, July 14th, in Waverly as postseason District play begins.  The winner of July 14th's game will face the winner of the Waverly--Crestwood game.
