Decorah baseball team sweeps Waverly Shell-Rock in a doubleheader

The Decorah Vikings baseball team faced Waverly Shell-Rock in a home game on Friday and Decorah finished on top. It was Decorah's first doubleheader sweep over Waverly Shell-Rock since 2012.
 
In Game 1, the final score was Decorah 2, Waverly Shell-Rock 1, after 10 innings of play.
Jackson Varney had a RBI infield hit in the bottom of the 10th inning which snapped the 14 game losing streak to Waverly Shell-Rock.
 
In Game 2, the final score was Decorah 4, Waverly Shell-Rock 2.
Dawson Meyer had 2 hits, 2 RBI. Drake Shelton pitched the complete game, pitching 4 strikeouts, giving up 3 hits, 2 walks.

Decorah moves into 2nd place in the conference. 18-5 overall and 12-4 in the conference.
 
The Vikings will face Clayton Ridge on Monday at Garnavillo Baseball Field with varsity at 4:00 p.m and jv to follow.
