The Decorah Viking wrestling team won the Clyde Bean Duals Tournament in Iowa City on Saturday, winning all four of its matches.

The Vikings beat Iowa City City High 66-9, Lisbon 48-29, Keokuk 58-21 and Cedar Rapids Xavier 58-18.

Seven Viking wrestlers went 4-0 and were named to the All-Tournament Team: Kellan O'Shea at 132 pounds; Hans Holkesvik at 152 pounds; Nathan Suhr at 160 pounds; Peter Kephart at 170 pounds; Tyler Hovey at 182 pounds; Andy Hovden at 220 pounds and Austin Ashbacher at 285 pounds.

Viking Wrestling Coach Jeff Freidhof said, "Overall the wrestlers put on a dominant performance--out of 51 actual wrestled matches we had 30 falls!"

Not only did Decorah have seven undefeated wrestlers, but Friedhof said Noah Byrnes, Keegan Blackburn and Alec Fjelstul got good wins.

Decorah is now 17-4 on the season in dual meets--the third highest total in school history, with the opportunity to qualify for regional duals and get more wins still ahead.

Concluded Freidhof, "It is an exciting time for Decorah Wrestling."
