Decorah girls cross country team finishes second at Luther All-American Meet

The Decorah High School girls cross country team went up against some of the best cross country teams in Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota on Saturday morning at the Luther All-American Invitational.  The Vikings did well, finishing second in the field of 12 teams.

Decorah was paced by Brinn Anderson and Shana Kelly, who finished 7th and 8th respectively.  Anderson finished in 16:04, while Kelly came in just two seconds behind.

Freshman Amanda Taylor was 12th with a time of 16:26, while senior Tessa Kraus was 20th in 16:45.  Gara Lonning finished 27th, Shelby Varney was 28th and Alice Gullekson was 32nd.  All of the Viking runners finished in 17:10 or less.

La Crosse Central won the meet, followed by Decorah, Dubuque Hempstead, Platteville, Northfield, Rochester Century, Iowa City Regina, Rochester John Marshall, Chatfield, Crestwood, Mason City and Waterloo West..
