Girls soccer team loses to Denver

The Decorah High School girls soccer team outshot Denver 15-11 on Monday, but lost the match 2-1.

Kelsey Ritner scored the Vikings' lone goal at 26:22 into the match to give Decorah a 1-0 lead, but Denver scored at 37:25 to tie the game at 1-1 at halftime, then scored the game winner at 57:12.

Head coach Julie Shockey said afterwards, "We had opportunities that we just didn't finish. We had the same problems as we had against NU High--we let a team hang around."

Decorah is now 3-3 on the season.
