When a formula is working for you, you keep doing it. That's what the Decorah Viking girls track team--which has been relying on its relay teams all season--did again on Friday to post an impressive victory at the Decorah Invitational.
The Vikings had 10 first place finishes and 8 second place finishes en route to posting 221 points--almost double the points of second place Elkader Central.
Viking relay teams winning their events were the 4 x 800 meter relay team; the 800 Sprint Medley team; the Distance Medley relay team; the 4 x 200 meter relay team; the 4 x 100 meter weightwoman relay team; the 4 x 100 meter relay team; and the 4 x 400 meter relay team. Other first place finishes were recorded by Moran Lonning in the 3,000 meter run and in the 1,500 meter run and Kayla Kregel in the 400 meter dash.
Earning second place finishes were Megan Tappe in the 100 meter dash; Sierra Klimesh in the 400 meter dash; Kaia Miller in the 800 meter run; Leah Broderick in the 200 meter dash; Megan McDonough in the 100 meter hurdles and in the 400 meter hurdles; Kelsie Larson in the 1,500 meter run and Jackie Hoyme in the discus throw.
