Viking girls tennis team made it a
great last road trip on Monday evening against class 2A
Waterloo West with a convincing 9-0 victory.
Laura Reutlinger played a heady match
at #1 singles, running off 8 straight games to dominate the
match in the late stages. Erica Munkel struggled in
the first set, then completely outplayed her opponent in the
second set and tie-breaker played for the third set.
Siri Hedstrom and Logan Thompson in singles and Jenny
Dallenbach and Erica Munkel in doubles did not allow their
opponents a single game during their matches.
The Decorah junior varsity continued
their great season by defeating Waterloo West by a 14 wins,
5 losses, and 2 tie to finish the season with an impressive
7-1 record.

Saturday the girls tennis team opens up regional team play
at Charles City against Osage in the first round. If
the Vikes are able to defeat Osage, they will then play the
winner of Charles City and Clear Lake at 1:00 p.m |
