Luther softball team drops from IIAC tournament, but not before winning 30th game of the year
The Luther College softball team's season came to an end Saturday as the result of a 1-0 loss to Coe College, but not before a 2-1 victory over Central College earlier in the day gave Luther its 30th victory of the season.  Luther's 30 wins marks the first time in school history that the softball team has posted back-to-back 30 win seasons. Last year the Norse set a single season school record with a record of 35-7.

In Saturday's first game, Luther's Danielle Armbruster hit a bases loaded single in the bottom of the seventh to give the Norse a 2-1 victory over Central College in game eight of the Iowa Conference Tournament.  BreAnn VanDeer got the victory, going seven innings, allowing one run on four hits.

In Saturday's second game, Coe defeated the Norse 1-0.  The Kohawks scored their only run in the bottom of the third when Krystal Kopp lead-off with a triple to right field. One batter later, Ashley Leonard drove in Kopp on a sacrifice fly to the same side of the ball park.
