Luther men's tennis team to travel to Gustavus Adolphus for NCAA Division III Championships
The Luther College men’s tennis team is one of 41 teams to qualify for the NCAA Division III National Tournament.  The Norse have learned they will travel to Gustavus Adolphus College on Friday, May 2nd, to take on Carthage College (14-8) in the first round.  If Luther wins, it will play #6 nationally ranked Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday, May 3rd.  A victory on Saturday would qualify Luther for Sunday's finals against either  the University of Texas at Tyler (17-6) or the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater (19-7).  The NCAA Division III National Tennis Championships will be played at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine May 13th through May 18th.

Luther College was an automatic qualifier for the national tournament after capturing the 2008 Iowa Conference championship on Friday, April 28th.  Luther is making its second consecutive trip to the national tournament and third in school history.  Luther is coached by Brian Huinker, who is in the midst of his seventh season and has led the Norse to a dual meet record of 158-68.
