Decorah ignores cold & wind to notch girls tennis victory
When Decorah's girls tennis match against Osage started on Friday afternoon at the Luther College tennis courts, the temperature was around 55 degrees.  By the end of the meet, gusty northwest winds had pushed the temperature into the mid 30s.

But the Vikings didn't let the bad weather deter them, beating Osago 9-0.  Jenny Dellenbach, Siri Hedstrom and Logan Thompson all had 6-1, 6-0 victories in singles, while Laura Reutlinger, Erica Munkel and Karissa Shindelar registered 6-0, 6-1 victories.  Decorah's three doubles teams also won, giving up just a total of four sets.

Head Coach Larry Berland said afterwards, "It has been a difficult season for us to address stroke improvement and game strategies with any kind of consistency because of weather interruptions.  We are very lucky that in a year like this we have so many experienced players back who have taken it upon themselves to work hard to make the stretch run for the state tournament."
