| Decorah High
School athletes have done well at the Drake Relays
in Des Moines. On Saturday morning the Decorah Viking
girls 4 x 800 relay team of Kelsie Larsen, Moran Lonning,
Kelsey Strand and Kaia Miller finished with a time of
9:59.34--good for tenth place in a field that included a
number of Class 4A powerhouses.
On Friday Decorah's Brett Van Sloten had a shot put
of 50 feet 5.5 inches on Friday morning--good for 9th
place in the High School Boys Division. Senior Chelsea
Humpal was competing in the discus throw at about the same
time. Her throw of 113 feet and 6 inches was good for
11th place in the High School Girls Division.
The Decorah High School 4 x 100 relay
team of Teresa Procter, Karli
Ramstad, Allie Canoy and Kayla Kregel had a time of 53.22
seconds, good for 56th place. The 4
x 400 relay team of Jenny Riley, Kelsey Strand, Kaia
Miller and Kayla Kregel ran in 4:14.64, which was good for
23rd place. |
