Girls golf team loses by one stroke to New Hampton
The Decorah High School girls golf team lost by one stroke to New Hampton on Monday, April 21st, despite having 9 of its 13 girls shoot a season low score.  New Hampton edged Decorah 199 to 200, with Annelise Keune winning meet medalist honors with a 46.  Other Viking golfers were Rylee Rollins with a 50; Hailey Spilde with a 51; Kelsey Wyckoff with a 53; Elizabeth Sherin with a 57; and Kayla Hemesath with a 58.

Said head coach Scott Pierce, "Our varsity lowered its previous best score by 14 strokes so it's hard to be too disappointed in a one stroke loss.  200 is a good score for April and I feel like our varsity girls can drop a few more strokes as a team as we prepare for the NEIC meet."

Decorah's JV lost to New Hampton's JV 236 t0 251, but Sara Brownrigg from Decorah was co-medalist with a 56.  Danielle Fulsaas shot a 64; Destyn Bonelli had a 65; Kiley Billiet and Kyla Leliefeld both shot 66s; Allison Breeser had a 71; and Kari Peterson shot a 77.

The girls golf team plays Tuesday at Oelwein; Thursday at Waverly; and Friday with Crestwood at Oneota Golf and Country Club.
