Viking boys win their own track invitational
The weather was chilly Monday afternoon at Viking Stadium in Decorah, but the Decorah Viking boys track team didn't let that bother it.  The Vikings won their seven-team track meet, piling up 121 points to New Hampton's 111.  Elkader Central was third, followed by Waukon, Oelwein, South Winneshiek and MFL/Mar-Mac.

Decorah had eight first place finishes.  Brett Van Sloten won both the shot put and discus throw, while Steven Drost won the high jump.  Decorah's 4 x 800, 4 x 400 and 4 x 100 weightmen relay teams finished first.  Evan Neubauer won the 3,200 meter run with a time of 10:21.01.  Paul Domnenko ran the 100 meter dash in 11.99.

Decorah High School's junior varsity team also did well, with five first place finishes, including firsts in the 4 x 800 and 4 x 400 relays.
