High School girls tennis team finished second Saturday at a
meet that brought together four of the top teams in the
state. The Vikings trailed Waterloo Columbus by just 7
points, collecting 169 points to Columbus' 176. Cedar
Rapids Kennedy--last year's 2A state champions--finished
third at 159 points.
Individually, Siri Hedstrom finished first at #3 singles, as
did Logan Thompson at #4 singles and Jenny Dallenbach and
Erica Munkel at #2 doubles. Laura Reutlinger finished
4th at #1 singles; Jenny Dallenbach was 4th at #2 singles;
Erica Munkel was 3rd at #5 singles and Karissa Shindelar
finished 2nd at #6 singles.
Other doubles teams were Reutlinger
and Hedstrom 2nd at #1 doubles and Thompson and Shindelar at
#3 doubles.
The Vikings will play Tuesday in
Decorah at Charles City. |
