Luther
softball team splits with #25 Coe |
The Luther
College softball team opened its defense of its Iowa
Conference championship on Saturday by splitting a
doubleheader with Coe College in Cedar Rapids. The
Kohawks entered the double header ranked 25th in the nation.
Luther lost game one 2-1 when it gave up an unearned run in
the bottom of the eighth on a pair of bunts coupled with a
Norse error. But the Norse came back to take game two
11-3. The Norse exploded for 11 runs on 13 hits.
Luther is now 13-5 on the season and 1-1
in the Iowa Conference. It will host Cornell College
at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in Decorah. |
