Wanless signs letter of intent to Winona State
Decorah High School senior Chris Wanless on Wednesday signed a national letter of intent to play football at Winona State University next fall.

Wanless was named a First Team Class 3A District 3 defensive back in 2008, then was recognized as a First Team Class 3A District 3 receiver in 2009.  He was also honored as a First Team All-State Receiver by the Iowa Sports Connection in 2009.  Wanless helped the Vikings to an appearance in the Class 3A State Football Championship in 2008 and the Class 3A State Quarterfinals in 2009.

Chris is the son of Paul and Sara Wanless of Decorah.  He also participates in basketball, D-Club and soccer at Decorah High School.

Chris says he chose Winona State University because his visit there went well.  He says the school offers the courses he's interested in; has a nice campus; and a good coaching staff.  Chris says playing football for Winona State University "is a great opportunity."
