High School girls basketball team nearly pulled a major
upset on Tuesday night. Facing the #2-ranked Waukon
Indians in Waukon, the Vikings led by four points in the
closing minutes of the game. But the Indians rallied
to tie the game at 49-49 at the end of regulation, then went
on to take a 57-54 victory in overtime.
Sam Cuvelier led the Vikings with 20
points, while Moran Lonning added 10 points and Elly Arend
and Karli Ramstad each added 8 points. Waukon was led
by Mary Halverson, who had 30 of Waukon's 57 points. |
